Hello again!
I know it is Halloween, so I decided that I should give you a little excerpt of Last Chance for you guys to read. It was written by my friend Riley and I, and we still have a lot of editing to do. I love writing it with her, she is amazing!
If you don’t like it that much, I’m sorry. But if you find it really interesting and you want more, please let me know so I will be motivated to share more with all of you!
Still, musty air. Consuming hazy darkness. Tiny pieces of ash fluttering to the ground, like a bunch of angry two year olds in the clouds have been ripping up pieces of paper.
Scanning my environment, I can just hardly see the lake where I had just broke the surface through layers of embers. I don’t know why I was in that lake. All of this information is in my head with no memories of where I had gotten it. My eyes sting, and water is dripping from my hair and from the dress that barely clings to my body. The material is shredded and a bit puffy.
The pond behind me is polluted with firedust, still for whatever amount of time it had been still until my eyes had fluttered open and my lungs screamed, communicating through searing pains, for air. I knew then to find oxygen, immediately.
What, exactly, is this place? Where am I? A geyser blows just inches from my face and I scream, falling back into the water. This water is cold and still, littered with ash. That water is hot and active, foaming as it sprays. I don’t like either.
I fumble around in the water, my hands passing over something hard. I don’t care right now, all I want is up. I float to the top in the murky water. Now I just have to get through the thick layer of embers, again. There is nothing to push off of, making it hard to break through. My fist weakly strikes the top. I hit again, and again, until I see flecks on the edge of my stinging vision and my head starts to pulse with my blood.

I give up. The layer of ash is too hard to penetrate. I allow myself to float away until unconsciousness pulls at my eyes, drawing them closed. I drift into an endless sleep.
There’s our prologue part one for you! I hope you enjoyed it.
And, again, Happy Halloween!
If you find anything that needs to be corrected or fixed, don’t hesitate to comment to me about it and Riley and I will fix it.
Thanks again! Bye!
